OMG!!! Had a query regarding the air filter, i.e. how to take it out to clean it? I thought that this would be a simple job as I knew it was housed in a plastic box under the seat - simple eh? No way, hosé!!!
After taking the seat off, removing the socket bolts that hold the air filter housing on to the bike, I thought I could then undo the four screws that hold the cover for the filter. After a lot of manipulation I could just about undo the screws, but no way would the filter come out. It appears the metal brackets the air filter box is screwed to block it from coming away from the bike!
I had to undo the rear inside mud guard to see if the box would come out backwards...............no!
It seems the only two ways the box comes out is forward, which means removing the carburettor, or upwards which would mean removing the petrol tank. Oh well the filter looked clean - so can stay where it is for the time being!
